About us

The Prague Gallery of Czech Glass (Pražská galerie českého skla, o.p.s.) was founded in 2007 as a non-profit organisation that carries forward the legacy of Czech glass and supports a new generation of glass artists.

Since 2009 it has organised the Stanislav Libenský Award, an international competition for graduates of art universities whose final work is made in glass. Over seventeen editions it has supported more than 600 young artists from around the world. The 2026 edition is exhibited at the House at the Golden Ring of the Prague City Museum.

The gallery has no permanent exhibition space of its own. It works as a gallery without walls: it prepares exhibitions with museums and partner institutions and makes its collection accessible online in the Permanent exhibition. The collection focuses on contemporary international glass by emerging artists and grows mainly through the Stanislav Libenský Award.

The gallery published a limited re-edition of the Stockholm drinking set, designed by Stanislav Libenský in 1969. The edition is sold out; its proceeds supported the Stanislav Libenský Award. The story of the edition

The gallery is supported by the members of the Patrons’ Club, a community of entrepreneurs, philanthropists and collectors who care about the future of glass art.
